The weather conditions of the seasons place different demands on lawn plants. While in spring nutrients are meant to support vigorous growth, in autumn what matters is resilience to wind and weather. Accordingly, lawn fertilisers are commercially available for all seasonal variations. The autumn fertiliser consists of 15% nitrogen, 20% potassium oxide and 3% magnesium oxide. This improves the resilience of the lawn, and susceptibility to disease caused by frost is noticeably reduced. Potassium also strengthens the cell structure of the grasses and optimises the transport of sugar to the roots. The pack size in a practical folding carton is designed for 100 m².
